You
may best know Gavin Newsom as the mayor of San Francisco who
was overruled by the California Supreme Court on same-sex
marriages...you may know him as the mayor who signed into
law the first-ever city ban on plastic bags; or, you may
just know him as the guy who slept with his best friend's
wife and then said he was an alcoholic. Although, we should
cut him some slack, at least it wasn't some stranger's
wife...that'd really be over the line.
But not me, I only know him for one thing and it happened
just this past Sunday...
"I will not allow any of my department heads or anyone
associated with this city to cooperate in any way shape or
form with these raids," Newsom declared. "We are a sanctuary
city, make no mistake about it."
I have been telling you for months now that illegal
immigration is creating a new civil war in this country.
It's pitting neighbor against neighbor and city against
city, but -- until now -- a city has never openly challenged
its own federal government and said "we will not cooperate
with you." San Francisco, you should be ashamed.
You want to openly defy federal law and shelter illegals?
Great. You want to ban the military from recruiting in your
schools. No problem, freak people. You want to ban guns
and plastic bags. Whatever floats your boat. But the Real
Story tonight is that as long as San Francisco continues to
act like they're an independent country then we should treat
them like one.
If I were President, then San Francisco would be begging for
a new Lee Harvey Oswald because I'd say "Read My Lips: no
more federal funding for you." We sent you over $7.6
billion dollars a couple of years ago and I'd cut every blue
cent of it. If you want to make us pay for your rogue
immigration policy, then you're getting no more money for
roads, or education, no more postal service, federal courts,
coast guard, FBI or FAA -- and I'll personally uproot all
the Redwood trees from OUR national park and move them to
Utah.
You don't like our immigration policy San Francisco? Great
-- send your playboy mayor to Congress and let him lobby for
change. You don't like the way the war is going? Well
congratulations, we have a representative government and
your Congresswoman happens to be Speaker of the House...tell
her to pull our troops out.
If you don't like this country's laws then either work to
change them or take a vote and secede from the union.
Really, no hard feelings either way...I'm more than happy to
still visit Alcatraz even when it's owned by Venezuela. |
