GLENN: I want to
play this audio of Hillary Clinton and the question that she
got from this college student. This is from -- was this on
CNN, Stu?
DAN: Yes, it was on CNN, and she's talking about she was --
she wants to go to all these rallies and, you know, she
wants to see all the candidates. And they picked her up and
they offered to take prize to go to this event. So she's in
the car with these Hillary people.
GLENN: The Clinton campaign picked them up?
DAN: I forget exactly what. It's like a campaign, whatever,
they were offering rides.
STU: Certainly candidates do that all over the state.
GLENN: So here it is. Here she is talking to CNN about her
question that she asked Hillary Clinton that wasn't her
question.
VOICE: Brought me to one of the senior staffers and he asked
me if there was any question I wanted to ask and I thought
about it and I said, yeah, can I ask how her energy plan
compares to the other candidates' energy plan. And he said,
I don't think that's a good idea because I don't know how
familiar she is with their plans. And he showed me --
GLENN: Just a second. Stop. I mean, I've got a problem with
not familiar -- shouldn't you be familiar with the other
candidates' plans? I mean, maybe you're not honest enough
but if somebody else has a better plan you could -- you
know, I like this part of the plan, but here's where they go
wrong. You should probably know your candidates, you know,
the other candidates' plans, you know. Let's just say you
are a dirty campaigner. Steal the good ideas and make them
yours! For the love of Pete.
All right. But that's not the real problem. Here it is.
VOICE: And then he showed me in his binder, he had a piece
of paper that had typed out questions on it and the top of
them was planned specifically for a college student.
GLENN: Stop, stop. He showed me his binder which, you've got
a young college student talking about, you know, an
encounter with a Clinton and, you know, show me your binder.
I believe they're talking about actual binders here. But in
the binder is a typed out sheet that says questions and the
top one is, for college students. Now, I just want you to
remember this. It's in the binder. It's a typed out sheet
with questions in different categories.
VOICE: That said, like, college student. When I asked how it
worked, he said, raise your hand when she asks for
questions, raise your hand and she'll call on you. So I
mean, I don't know for sure that she knew in advance but
there were, like, 200 people there and everyone was raising
their hand. I was one out of four.
GLENN: Stop. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt.
I don't think she knew what the question was per se. I know
she knows the answer to that question because it clearly has
been done before, but I absolutely believe that, you know, a
candidate, all candidates are probably told in advance, you
know, we did some, you know, some operative work and you
should call on this person and this person and this person.
So here's the question and the answer that she asked and was
answered by Hillary Clinton.
VOICE: As a young person, I'm worried about the long-term
effects of global warming. How does your plan combat climate
change?
HILLARY CLINTON: Well, you should be worried. I find as I
travel around Iowa that it's usually young people who ask me
about global warming.
GLENN: Stop. Of course it is. It's in the binder. That's the
college student question. I mean, jeez. For the love of
Pete, of course it is. Now, Hillary Clinton's camp came out
and said, this is not systematic, this isn't -- maybe this
happened this one time but it doesn't happen usually. You've
got it in the binder!
