GLENN: From Radio
City in Midtown Manhattan, hello, you sick twisted freak.
Welcome to it. It's the third most listened to show in all
of America. Glad you're here. It's quite a day. It's going
to be quite a week in New York City. It's the worst week of
the year and that's saying something for New York City. They
closed down several avenues and streets in New York and it's
already a nightmare with gridlock and they closed them down
so all of the -- you know, so all the dignitaries -- I hate
to even use that word when I know Ahmadimejad is in town,
but all the dignitaries can get to where they are going
without having to stop. They don't stop the cars at all. And
so they have to close down full avenues and streets, and it
is a nightmare. Today driving in early this morning at 6:00,
there were two giant Coast Guard cutters there by the George
Washington bridge. There will be fighter jets that will be
going up and down the rivers around the island of Manhattan.
There will be black helicopters everywhere in the sky and
the black helicopters really do exist. The Department of
Homeland Security, on the way home, I think it was on
Thursday night -- was I here on Friday? No, I was in
Washington. Thursday night on the way home I saw these
unmarked DHS vans that had prisoners in the back of the van
and then I thought to myself, they're rounding people up to
get people off of the street that might cause some trouble
in New York this week when all of the, quite frankly all of
the enemies of our country are here in town at the UN. I
have Dr. Zuhdi Jasser on phone with us. We're going to go to
him in just a second. We also have Stu out at Columbia
University where Ahmadimejad is going to speak today. It is
an outrage. I would love to hear from the politician that
wants to cut off every single federal dollar to Columbia
University. They won't let our ROTC on campus but they will
let a guy who executes homosexuals, their only crime being
homosexuals. They will allow him to speak for diversity of
opinion.
Let me go to Stu who's now out at Columbia. Hello, Stu.
STU: Hey, Glenn, how are you?
GLENN: What's the scene like out there?
STU: Shockingly enough, there is a very, I would say there
is a very few pro Ahmadimejad supporters here.
GLENN: Really?
STU: I honestly thought he could have run for senator here,
being on the upper side of Manhattan but actually I haven't
seen one person yet that actually likes the guy.
GLENN: Well, I mean, are you going to -- you're going to
carry a sign that's pro Ahmadimejad?
STU: It's New York City.
GLENN: Well, that's true. That's true. All right.
STU: As I was saying a second ago at Columbia, I was talking
to a local businessman here in Harlem who came in, when no
one wants to be in Harlem years ago and bought up real
estate that was extremely cheap and he was -- one of his big
complaints about Columbia is that they are trying to use
eminent domain to now take back the real estate now that
it's expensive again.
GLENN: I mean, these liberal universities are incredible.
It's like Yale. Yale pays no taxes. You'll learn in their
university classes that taxes are the way of the future.
That's the way you go ahead and you run your country, but
Yale University, this he won't pay taxes to the city of New
Haven and basically their thought is, what are you going to
do without us? Go ahead, see you. We leave, there's nothing
left. And they don't pay taxes and they just gobble the
whole city up and then leave people living in squalor
because there's no tax base there. And look at Columbia
University going after eminent domain. I mean, these people
are incredible. You'll learn in their glasses how evil the
government is and how they're trying to rob you of your
rights and they're listening on your phone calls but they
will take land from people on eminent domain. It's
incredible
STU: It's amazing, although there is at least here in the
area, it makes you feel a little bit better about the
university in that, A, there are a lot of people here
protesting against him being here which is, I mean, to me is
somewhat surprising but very satisfying.
GLENN: Are they -- wait a minute.
STU: Go ahead.
GLENN: Are they university students?
STU: Yeah, lots of university students. I would say the ones
I've seen, there are certainly a lot out here with no
discernible -- like they are not, they are trying not to
make a statement either way which is I'm sure the way I
would want to be out here at this point in this area.
GLENN: What do you mean? They just want to see the scene?
STU: Yeah, just -- there's a lot of people here, Glenn. And
I think you talked about one of them earlier. Like there's a
lot of people who were here for the show, for the spectacle
of it, the fact that there's just this nutbag and all the,
you know, news organizations are here, people printing up
flyers with President Tom's face on it, say "Bringing sexy
back." There is a bunch will college silliness surrounding
it. It's ridiculous for the most part.
GLENN: Hitler was really funny, wasn't he?
STU: No, there's a lot of seriously funny, Hitler,
particularly when he was alive, people were joking about
that all the time.
GLENN: Yeah, when they were readying the trains to take Jews
to the gas chambers, that's when he was at his funniest.
STU: Oh, my gosh, that guy, you know what it was, Glenn, it
was timing. It was all about timing with him.
GLENN: Well, that's the secret to comedy. So --
STU: It really is. There aren't a lot of anti, you know,
President Tom posters around, you know, pictures of people
for being gay. Other ones who have been lashed for being
gay. Lots of denial of Holocaust material floating around.
Really pleasant material. At least for right now it seems on
the right side of it.
GLENN: Do you see, like, do you see a big contingent of
people with rainbow flags?
STU: You know, no. And I spoke to another guy earlier who
was making a similar point about activism in the
African-American community saying -- he's a black guy and
from Harlem and he said, you know what, I talked to all the
people at my office and I'm like, why aren't you coming out
here and supporting this just as well. These people are
going the same place our people did 100 years ago or 200
years ago. And they don't -- this is something that should
be more unifying, I would think, to activists but really it
seems to be just normal people trying to sap in the whole
environment of it all and there are a lot of very pro
Israeli people here as well.
GLENN: I have to tell you, it is amazing to me. I think the
only way that Ahmadimejad would be disinvited to Columbia
University is if all of a sudden he announced today that he
was a conservative Republican.
STU: (Laughing.)
GLENN: Do you see anyone from the National Organization of
Women there?
STU: Glenn, so far there are zero -- I don't see tents
anywhere.
GLENN: Unbelievable.
STU: I would say there's none.
GLENN: They stone -- this guy stones women to death, stones
women to death for adultery. And by the way, their testimony
is only worth, I believe it's half or is it now 1/3 of a
man's testimony.
STU: Yeah, yeah. No, maybe that wasn't on the website.
GLENN: All right, Stu, we'll talk to you here in just a few
minutes, okay? We'll talk to you later...
