So ask yourself, if you heard all of the above would you believe that Glenn is being serious? Well hundreds of people thought that he was, and they took some time to let him know. Here is a list of just some of the hatemail Glenn received on Friday.

I need to ask whether you truly believe what you say or whether it is a put-on. On your February 1, 2002 show for example do you really think that South Africa is a continent? Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. I'm sure you can check it out. What concerns me is that you made a claim to being bi-polar. Is this true? If you are I wish you would set a better example by being more open when people show some contradiction. Bi-polars are given a bad enough public impression by crazy acts. When you have a forum such as radio why not use it to show that people with disorders can be in control of their lives. Besides if anyone did not know the seven continents why teach the wrong information? You have me almost to the point of turning off the radio during my drive to work. Any comments can be directed back here.

Glenn, I am a photographer and spend countless hours in my darkroom listening to you on the radio. I have enjoyed your show, appreciate your insights and occasionally laugh at your absurdities. However, on the show (Feb 1) regarding the discussion of the continents I felt the need to comment. I appreciate that you have a degree from Yale and you usually do have a good understanding of your world but having said that, the last I heard there were 7 continents. (It was even a question on one of your moron trivia shows.) Those continents are as follows: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Antarctica. Sorry but South Africa did not come in as #8. Since such a big deal was made of this on your show, I think that you should come clean. Admit that there is no eighth continent. Did I hear you tell your listeners that Duran Duran were South African in
tale about the song "Rio" and African Drums, Brazilian unofficial anthem,
etc.,?

Of the 6 band members 4 were born in Birmingham England, 1 in Tynemouth
England and one in Brooklyn, NY.

I'm a fairly new listener to your show (Sioux City, IA, KMNS Radio), so I
don't know if you were just jerking our chains today, BUT ....

Brazil is, indeed, in South AMERICA. South AFRICA is not a continent, but,
even if it were, Brazil would not be located there.

And it CAN be warm -- even tropical -- in South America ... the same equator
that runs through Africa also runs through South America. Consider the
Amazon and the hot, steamy tropical rain forest, also in South America.

FURTHERMORE, Sean Connery is not Irish; he's a Scotsman. He has a somewhat
famous tattoo that reads "Scotland Forever." The burr in his speech is not
Irish, it's a Scottish brogue. He's never been the president of Ireland,
although he is a Knight of the British Empire.

I don't know WHERE the hell Duran Duran are from -- I'll take your word on
that one!

I couldn't believe my ears when the caller called in today, Friday, February 1, to try to correct you for saying Brazil was in South Africa. He was correct, it is in South America! South Africa isn't a continent. The seven continents are, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Antarctica, and Australia. Brazil and Argentina are both HOT and in South America! In fact, Brazil is the largest country in the continent of South America! Get out your world atlas or encyclopedia and check it out.

Another point...outer space does NOT have north, south, east and west, thus your question regarding what planets are NORTH of Earth cannot be answered. North, south, east, and west are relative terms in regards to a PLANATARY scale (i.e. only planets have poles, not outer space).

By the way, I graduated with a Masters from George Washington University and a doctorate from University of Minnesota, and frankly your lack of knowledge is astounding. But what is worse is you pushing in people's faces that you came from Yale (what did you do, go there once for a football game?). I imagine you've gotten a lot of flack over this issue & maybe you've
already admitted the error. (I wasn't able to listen to your entire show
today & maybe you were just yanking people's chains anyway). But if
you're helpers actually went out on the internet & still thought that the
country of Brazil was in any part of Africa (south or otherwise) maybe
you need new helpers. When you dissed the one person who called in about
the issue by saying you "graduated from Yale" & know what you're talking
about . . . an observation came to mind: World geography probably wasn't
your major.

It seems that your only defense against people that say your wrong is the fact that you attended Yale. I know you pay attention to current events and I'm sure that you have read the story about the current Yale student that bought heroin off the street. He took the heroin to a police station and asked them to test it to make sure it was real. Apparently he wanted to make sure that he didn't get screwed. The police tested it, they found that it indeed was heroin, and proceeded to arrest him. Brazil is the largest country on the SOUTH AMERICAN continent. I am an international flight attendant, my husband is an international pilot; a 777 captain.We both have flown (many, many times) to Sao Paulo; Brazil's largest city. Look at a map.

This is not only wrong; it is racist and laughable. The name of the song is CAMP TOWN RACES. Also, are you saying that because the song has do-da do-da in it, it has to come from Africa??? Why? If you think that South Africa is inhabited by Black savages, you are again wrong. It is a diverse country, and Cape Town is the very cosmopolitan capital of South Africa.

I've been to every continent except the poles and Australia which is both a country and a continent. I've be to Rio de Janeiro in the country of Brazil on the continent of South America. I've also been to most of the countries on the continent of Africa, but unfortunately never have made it to the country of South Africa. It happens to be at the very end of the continent of Africa and it is simply a country. The country of South Africa may have a city called Brazil, but nothing more. The statue of Jesus is in Rio in the country of Brazil on the continent of South America.

Brazil is located in South America bone head. Get your lazy ass off a

As I listened to your program Friday I heard you correcting people on men who
played James Bond not being English. You said Sean Connery was from Ireland.
Actually Sean Connery is from Scotland. Pierce Brosnan is from Ireland and
timothy Dalton was from England. The confusion stems from them all being
"British" and Ireland, Scotland England & Wales are all part of Britain.

Hope this clears it up for you since you want accurate information from your
listeners.

The country of Brazil, having a city named Rio De Janeiro, is in the land
masses of the Americas. South America is south of the United Sates and
Mexico. The coast line of Brazil is on the east side of the continent. On
the other side of the ocean is found the continent of Africa.
You got a little deep in this one. Makes sense when one says they attribute
their understanding to Yale. It explains where they are coming from.

I am a homeschooled sophomore at age fifteen, and I am an avid
listener of your show and love listening to you. However, I should like
to say that if you think that Brazil is in South Africa, which happens to
be a country on the very southern tip of Africa, you are sadly mistaken.
Brazil is in South America, surrounded by Chile, Argentina, Peru,

It shows that Brazil lies on the eastern side of South America . It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and on the west by the Andes
mountains. Brazil lies on either side of the Equator (0), with part of the country in the northern hemisphere but most in the southern hemisphere. Brazil stretches from about 5 north to 32 south and from 35 west to almost 75 west. From Belém, the most north-easterly city in Brazil , to Liverpool in the United Kingdom is nearly 6,500 kilometres. Flying in a Jumbo Jet, it would take you about 11 hours to get from London to Rio de Janeiro , one of Brazil 's major cities on the Atlantic coast.

I wanted to tell you about a "small" mistake you made. Brazil is not on
